The Wedding Location
When thinking about where to get married, we considered lots of venues in and around Edinburgh and London, but - despite how conveniently they were located - nowhere held a candle to Queaux. It's the village that Robyn's mum, Louise, lives in half the year, and it's given us so many happy memories over the years!
The wedding and its associated events will take place between Louise and her neighbour's gardens and the adjoining campsite, Camping du Renard. All these locations are on the banks of the beautiful Vienne river. The campsite is rustic but it has all the facilities for a good party: accommodation, events space, proper toilets, a play park, a (mini) mini-golf course, a “beach”...
The Village
Queaux as a village is very small. It has a small bakery where you can get fresh bread and croissants in the morning (it also sells a few tins and bits and bobs). Next to this, there's a small restaurant run by the same people - but its opening hours aren't very reliable. There is also a little art gallery/ bar called La Maison du Terroir. There is no pharmacy, supermarket, cash machine etc. within walking distance. The best place for such amenities is Lussac-les-Chateaux, a 15-minute drive.
